  1. Living in Northern NH is amazing. Every morning I wake up to the sun shining through my window, and the smell of fresh air. The schools are small, but the people are friendly. Everybody knows everybody around here. It's like a little village where everyone gets along. I wouldn't change it for the world :] KG

  3. I love living in NH. The foliage is my favorite part. The leaves are absolutely beautiful and I love seeing the tourists come up and think it's freezing cold. Living in a cold environment is the best because you can go anywhere and think it's warm. The snow is the second best. It offers many opportunities to play outside and snowmobile.

  4. Sometimes i wish i lived in a place with a bigger population, but when it all comes down to it, I love living in New Hampshire. The population is small, there's less than 300 kids in our school, and that's like the size of a grade down in the southern part of the state. But it's wicked pretty up here, all year round. -kt

  5. Living in NH is like having an open diary to your entire town. A secret is never kept, but it doesn't matter because for the most part, nobody really cares too much about your business, they just always want to be in on it. It doesn't bother me, I have nothing to hide. I couldn't ask for a better place to live. I've never been interested in living in a city or by a beach. I like my weather cold and crisp. This place is perfect for me; absolutely perfect. -POR

  7. Living in the Northern NH is amazing! I lived in Manchester for ten years and it felt like heaven when I moved to Bethlehem. There is fresh air up here! I love how the locals wave and say hi to everyone. When you in Northern NH there is no such thing as being a wimp. It is so cold in the winters that when you go anywhere else you wear warm clothing in thirty degree weather. OP

  8. The winters consist of TOO MUCH SNOW and COLDNESS! But the warmer months are just so beautiful, and the scenery 365 days of the year is spectacular! Also everyone you run into is so nice and i love the fact that when you drive past someone you don't know they wave...that's just the way things are up here. RH

  9. On one hand, living in Northern New Hampshire is boring. Stores seem hours away and there is just never enough to do sometimes. On the other hand, New Hampshire is beautiful. Sunsets, sunrises, foliage, the lakes and rivers, everything about New Hampshire is just beautiful. The weather is great, sure winter takes so long to get over but it's not so hot that you pass out during the summer, which is pretty nice. ES

  10. I personally hate the winter here. It is too long and too cold. Although the winter is a downer, the summer is beautiful : )

  11. The winter is way too long and boring, but the warm weather is key. Summer time is amazing and I wouldn't change my summers here for ANYTHING in the world. HA

  12. Living in New Hampshire is like being stuck in a snow globe and never finding a way out. If you like being active, sure, it's like a long ski vacation. However, if you're like me and don't enjoy snow, you're stuck.

  13. Biking from Bethlehem to Franconia or vise versa is always a blast. After a long ride, just jump in the Hambranch River or the Gale River in Franconia. HA

  14. Every season there are always things to look for. Snow machining in the winter time, in the spring time there is muddin, and tons of fishing to do in the summer time. Also living in White Mountains you realize you know everyone in your town, school, and other towns. JY

  15. In Northern New Hampshire, the four seasons are just amazing. Everything is doing to make you comfortable. New Hampshire is a place in the middle of the fabulous landscape where your spirit can escape from anything. CD

  16. It's cold...
Like really cold! I'm from Belgium, and I'm here or one year, so the change was huge. The winter is long, and kind of horrible.
But the autumn was beautiful as well as the summer. People are really hippie and peace (and love). They are really welcoming, and gentle...

The other bad thing is that it's mostly composed of woods, and it's really hard to just go take a drink with friends, it's always at least 20 min of drive, and you always depend of someone who has a car...

  17. BORING. i mean unless you hang out with friends or go to the movies but the can only last for so long. but durring winter, the mountain is where it's at. AC

  21. Living in northern new hampshire is dull for a person like me. big cities are much more enjoyable because there are modern convieniences that are entertaining. you don't have to drive 20 miles to reach your nearest walmart in a city. it's usually walking distance. northern new hampshire is too rural for me.

  24. Living in NH is nice because of the dramatically different seasons. In the winter time, no one really sees each other in town, only at the slopes or sledding. In the fall, the colors are beautiful and people walk around in town. The spring time is when everyone starts to finally come out after the long, cold winter and get some fresh air. Summertime, everyone sees everyone in town and you can barely walk into town without bumping into at least two people you know! It's a beautiful place to live, but if you're not into outdoors it can be a very, very boring place to be. Not very many businesses or entertainment.

  26. Living in northern new hampshire is actually not that bad. The seasons are perfect! It doesnt get to cold in the winter and doesnt get to hott in the summer. There is a lot of outdoors stuff to do and if you stay inside all the time then you will just be bored outta your mind. Everyone really does kno everyone so you have to be carefull about what you do and say cause somehow it will get back to your parents and thats never good. There really arent any places to go shopping or any activitys that you can participate in. Transportation is always a problum unless you are 16 because everything is so far away. But other then that living in northern New Hampshire isnt that bad! RK

  27. Living in N. NH is soo much different than living in the suburbs of Chicago!! There are way less people and you could do a cartwheel on Main Street and make it into the newspaper. You know everyone in your class (at least their name) and it's a lot more personal. Of course, all the nature and trees that we've left alone makes it really interesting to explore in the White Mountains!

  29. i love living up in the white mountains because in the cities you have to worry about gangs and big schools and roads loaded with traffic. up here you have quiet roads and small schools and the best thing of all is that everybody knows everybody in a town like jefferson.:)

  30. Living in the White Mountains is extremely different than living anywhere else, like Tennessee or Rhode Island. It is a lot more beautiful with the scenes, a lot smaller in relation to town size and population, and much more peaceful and quiet than almost anywhere else I know. MK

  31. living here is amazing because you have thebest of both worlds...you have great summers amazing foliage during fall and the winters are always fun and spring you have great weather.you know just about everyone and have lots of friends. you dont have todeal with lots of noise because we are what you would kinda call protective in a way, plus we have everything we would need and we don't need much!that's why i like living here!

  38. Living in the North Country is not my ideal place. I have lived here all my life and I am sick of it! Yes, the fall is pretty, but I hate winter. I do enjoy the warm weather. There is also nothing to do around here. Many of the kids around here do bad thing. The big place to go around here is Wal-Mart. To make a long story short I can't wait to leave!

  39. FACT: everyone knows each other. This might be a good thing, or this might be a bad thing, depending on who you are. Everyone knows each others business. This could be good because you know if you are in a time of need someone will be there to help you. But it could also be bad because a local town's person could have seen you "out on the town" last Saturday night and know exactly how to contact your mother and let her know about all the details...

  40. Growing up in Northern New Hampshire is unlike any other place in the world. You become quite accustomed to the intensely cold temperatures, and are too hot in the summer when the thermometer reads 70 degrees. You become quite close to everyone you go to school with, and know everyone by name. Town life sometimes is slow, but there is always a beautiful hike to take, or a incredible mountain to ski, and every day you experience something new. There are many historical stories about the area.

To make a long story short, if you're lucky enough to live in Northern New Hampshire, you're lucky enough.

  41. I never thought i would live in a place with such a small population. All of my life i have lived in a place where everything was accessable to me right away. When I got here it was really shocking. I walked everywhere and all I found was people. I was surprised how people got along in such tiny schools. In only two weeks i knew everyones first and last names. It's a small world up here and you can't kepp a secret for too long. DB

  43. At first I didn't like it. I didn't like the fact that all people talked about was skiing. Now that I have gotten to know New Hampshire, I like it. I think that the fact that it is a quiet place is calming. I just love the peace up here. I think that everyone knowing everyone can be cool because you get to know people just by living in a small town.

  50. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I love it here. At any time you can either be swimming or hiking or dirtbiking or snowmobiling. Depending on the season happening at the time. And there is variety because we actually experience all four of the seasons. That's how it should be. JA

  57. I really have to work hard to get places and hang out with my friends. I bike almost 10 miles up and over Agassiz in the summer to get to my friends. When you can smell the snow coming in fall, and going skiing whenever you want to. And driving on the highway you try to freak the crows out by driving too fast by them. Life is so much better in the spring and summer because winter was so long and dead. MD

I love the quiet, peaceful feel of the mountains, and the slower pace of life, but I miss the diversity of southern New Hampshire, and the opportunities it offered. I love knowing almost everyone at my school, but I don't feel completely accepted like I did down south. ~MM

  67. I love living in the White Mountains because I love having beautiful snow in the winter but I also enjoy the warm summers when we are lucky enough to warm days. Spending the days in the winter by a fire or skiing or sledding or sipping hot cocoa. Then in the summer swimming and going to the river to play on the rocks and going to lakes. Overall Northern New Hampshire is beautiful in all the seasons! Fall with the beautiful trees and spring with the new flowers and winter with the cold white snow and summer with the amazing heat!

  68. New Hampshire is a beautiful place to be and depending on where you live there's alot to do. Unfortunately, here in bethlehem there is aboslutely nothing to do so I probably don't appreciate it's beauty as much as I should. Once I move away I'll miss the leaves in the autumn, I won't miss the below 30 nights in the winter or the muddy times in the spring but i will definately miss the blissful rivers and lakes in the summer.

    ReplyDelete
  69. It gets old living here in a small area. The things I will miss are the most at college is all the beautiful scenery. The trees are amazing, and change from colors to green. The views that you can see from many different places are unforgetable. When the trees bloom in the spring you can feel the sunshine in the air. The summers are never to hot, but just enough to go swimming in the freezing waters around. Living in NH is like living in the wilderness.

  70. Living in New Hampshire has its ups and downs. We have to travel quite a bit to get to a city, and some times the cold weather really gets to me. But there is so much you can do in the nature, skiing, hiking, swimming, ect. New Hampshire is a beautiful place, and I could not imagine living anywhere else.

    ReplyDelete
  71. There's pros and cons to living in NH. On the down side, it snows a foot in May, we have to drive 2 hours to go to a mall, there are more animals than people, and everyone knows everything. On the plus side, our surrounding atmosphere is breath taking. The foliage is beautiful, and the snow, although it's cold, is peaceful and pretty.

  80. Living in Northern New Hampshire is a blessing. Many may not see it as one because we are at least an hour away from any source of.. well anything but we are blessed. Living in the North Country makes you really connect with yourself. Living in the North Country allows you to take in the natural beauty of our world. We get to experience vast ranges of animals, peak foliage, and many other wonders.
Living in the North Country also gives you the advantage of a small town. Here everybody knows and cares for everybody. If you are ever in a tight spot you can rely on your community to be there for you and back you up when needed.

  82. Living in NH is definitely adventure. The weather is a little by-polar and there is not a lot to do if you want to be inside. Living in NH though is amazing everyone is close and people are there to help out others all the time, there is little crime, good sports teams, and always another hike to climb. Living in the North Country is living, learning, and enjoying the wild.
